With Physical Geography, Regional Geography, Human Geography and the Geographical Investigation all to consider, knowing where to start can be difficult. A simple weekly routine can make revision much more manageable.

Monday — Physical Geography: revise one topic, focusing on understanding processes and learning relevant examples.

Tuesday — Regional Geography: choose one region, revise its key characteristics, and practise answering one exam-style question.

Wednesday — Human or Economic Geography: review one topic and create a short summary of the most important points.

Thursday — Maps and Aerial Photographs: spend time developing your practical Geography skills by completing a map or aerial photograph question.

Friday — Case Studies and Examples: review important case studies, examples and statistics from across the course, filling in any gaps.

Weekend — Exam Practice: complete at least one timed exam question, then correct your answer and identify where you could have gained additional marks.

You don't need to study Geography for hours every evening. Focused, consistent revision throughout the year is far more effective than trying to learn everything immediately before the exam. Leaving Certificate Geography rewards students who combine strong subject knowledge with the ability to apply it to different scenarios — so keep practising past exam questions regularly, and let that consistency do the work.
